ohno! not so fast! YOUTHS CONFERENCE was so fun really fun. well, im serious not becus of games and making of new friends, but also the messages. it was a COMBINED youths stuffs from different BP churches.
this whole week have been fed by lots of spiritual food. i did not regret going for the youths conference. though i was like the 2nd youngest in the whole conference. jollyn was the youngest, hahas. it was only 2 days. and was early in the morning, 8.30am.
23rd JUNE
the first message was an opening
(1) message on, " let no man despise thy youth!" by Rev Quek.
he is a good speaker. hahas. well, we should spend our youths life fruitfully and not waste it.
after that we had tea break and group sharing. getting to know each other better. among my group, ok they all like so "old". hahas. hmmm. hui ling, jo-ann, candice, yi rong, alvin, james (my leader). Yupps. they are all like in JC, UNI! argh. so during discussion, i talked the less as i find is better lah. hahas.
(2)message: "definition of faith" by Rev Khoo. talking about,
to us what does faith means? i learn frm it, that trials that test our faith is a testing from god.
then we had LUNCH. oh and during that time. someone called my name, and it was samuel. hahas. it was great we could recognise each other. hahas. i guess it had been 7years when he was actually my bus runner when i was in pri3 went to his church for DVBS. so he is like 10/11 years older den me man! hahas. and yupps he was in my group.
(3)message: "lessons from OT" by Pr. Dennis. talking about abraham's life, the trials that he encountered. having us to ponder on ques.
so after that, we had tea break again. follow by group discussion. and GAMES. captain ball organise by wenxiang. youths camp also play captain ball, youths conference also. all plan by him . hahas. then went home. end at around 6pm.
24th JUNE
oh we were late for the singspiration. cus the van broke down couldnt pick us up, so went there ourself. so again,
(4)message: "lessons from NT" byRev Khoo. talking about fatih didnt realli take much notes on this. hahas. so yeah.
after that had break and continued with the
(5)message: "the contemporary situation" by Rev Quek. we should not let any men decieve us!
then we had group discussion about doctrines. kinda lost here. about charismatic movement, neo-evangelical movement and ecumenical movement... blablabla. den had lunch follwed by forum time! asking questions, quite funny, i dun mean the ques. yupps, after tad had break
again den vedio show about, the mission to africa. reaching out to others in other world. den after vedio, we had free and easy, my church and truth had rehearsal for today, sunday service presentation, showing others how we have been bless during the youths CAMP. den had dinner. finally the last message,
(6)message: "challenge to the youths" by Rev Quek. i guess youth is a time where we face more problems in life.
Yes, we should. god gave us the grace even though we do not deserve it. remembering that,
"not my will, but thine be done."
after message, we had our final group discussion planning on what we were going to present. so my group presented an item, i played the piano the rest sing.(presentation) hahas. there was time of sharing of testimony. before we went back at around 9.30pm. had closing prayer and feedback. yuppps.
well, i guess it had been an encouragement to me, even though the task we have is hard to do, we should do our best and be FAITHFUL. endure to the very end. everything by god's will. the most encouragement that brought to me was when i was in my group, observing the others who were like in JC and university, they were smart and very spiritual, compare to me lah. when pondering on that, yes excatly cus they are spiritual that's why they are good in their studies too. and being a student, what does god expect from us? is just so simple, studying and doing well for his glory! that really strikes me den! this gave me no excuse not to do well in my studies! so im realli glad going for the youths conference, thought they were much older like 19+
next ques to us, PRESSING ON TOGETHER, WILL WE DEFEND OUR FAITH?
